La cámara de recuento Makler es un dispositivo de fácil  uso  para el recuento rápido de espermatozoides, análisis de motilidad y morfología, a partir de muestras no diluidas. La cámara se compone de dos partes: 1. La parte inferior tiene una base de metal y dos asas. En el centro de la base hay un disco plano hecho de vidrio óptico plano en el que se coloca la muestra. 2. La parte superior es una cubierta de cristal rodeado de un anillo de metal. En el centro de su superficie inferior hay una rejilla 1mm2, subdividida en 100 cuadrados, cada uno de 0,1 x 0,1 mm. Cuando la cubierta de vidrio se coloca en las cuatro extremidades, el espacio limitado en una fila de 10 cuadrados es exactamente una millonésima parte ml. Por lo tanto, el número de cabezas de espermatozoides en 10 casillas indica su concentración en millones/ml.

The Cleaver Scientific Mini UV Sterilisation Cabinets provide a convenient area for limiting PCR reaction contamination. The powerful UV lights on the cabinets denature nucleic acids in 5 to 30 minutes making them unsuitable for amplification. White light provides excellent visibility when working within the cabinets. The cabinet incorporates safety features to prevent user exposure to UV light; the UV lights are timer controlled, and there are safety switches on the cabinets doors which automatically turn the UV lights off when opened. The cabinet also acts as an efficient shield from beta radioactive emissions, and can therefore be safely used with isotopes such as 32P.
